We had a show on Thursday, July 15th at the Way Out Club with Marz 88 and others, but we never got to even bring our equipment inside. Apparently the club double booked us with an out-of-town touring act and since we are the locals, we get bumped.
When we showed up we didn’t recognize any of the other bands, so we decided to head inside before unload our stuff. I saw Bob (the owner) moving some chairs around, so I went to him to say hello and to see if he needed any help.
We started chatting about how long it had been since we played the Way Out Club, and I mentioned that the last time we were there was with Marz 88. When he told me they were playing there next week I knew something was wrong.
After a minute of confusion Bob and I headed off to his computer to find out what his schedule said. And the Marz 88 show was on the books. So who were these other guys?
Apparently, they booked their show the same night, and since they are a touring act they got to keep the show. Not that big of a deal, other than scrambling to let everyone we knew that we were not playing, we got the night off.
I felt bad for Marz 88, they apparently had a show booked for that evening at the Library, but since it shut down a few weeks before they rescheduled for the Way Out Club. Two canceled shows in one evening, someone is telling you something.
We are in the process of booking our next batch of local shows, so stay tuned and we hope to see you there.

We recorded Broken and Norman at Jupiter Studios a few months back, and after great debate on what to do with them, we’ve finally concluded that you can hear the music. We are a band after all, and the point of the band is to allow the rest of the world to hear the music the band makes. So here they are:

Adam Gets His Revenge On The Ninjas

After the surprise attack on Adam at a Tower Grove Park kickball game where a band of Ninjas riding Dinosaurs attacked and killed kickball players, Adam, drummer for Achalachia, has finally tracked down and defeated the leader of the Ninja clan who committed this dastardly act.
Adam has spent two weeks sleeping in gutters and eating whatever he could scavenge from the trash because he has been hunting for the home base of the evil Ninja clan that attacked and killed kickball players over two weeks ago.
After finding the home base of the Ninjas, Adam preceded to single-handedly defeat each Ninja and their Dinosaur companion. Once each Ninja and Dinosaur team, over 100 in total, had been defeated, Adam cornered the leader of the Ninja clan, whom is commonly referred to as ‘The Dinosaur Riding Ninja Leader’.
Adam and DRNL fought for 7 days and 7 nights without rest or food in an epic battle that could only be referred to as ‘Cool’. Adam eventually bested DRNL with some tom-foolery about a sprained ankle. After winning the triumphant battle, Adam showed mercy by not killing his opponent, but tying him up for the appropriate authorities to arrest him.
Now safely behind bars, DRNL will never have the opportunity to terrorize kickball fields again. The world is a safer place due to Adam heroics. To congratulate him on his mighty win and to buy him a beer go to the next show. He would be happy to tell you the tale of this epic battle over a cold one.

Adam Injured In Ninja Attack

Adam, drummer for Achalachia, was attacked Sunday in Tower Grove Park by a band of Ninjas riding Dinosaurs, sources say. Rumors report that Adam has either broken his pinky or damaged his foot, either way this could be devastating to the Rock Band in their pursuit of world domination.
A leisurely game of kickball turned ugly was it was rudely interrupted by a wild band of Ninjas riding on the backs of Dinosaurs. The exact type of Dinosaur is still unknown, but Facebook sources report that Adam was injured in the skirmish.
The Ninjas, assumed to be Dark Ninjas (who else attacks friendly kickball games), apparently trampled over the game killing a few extras. Adam and his band of elite fighters that travel with him everywhere fought off the Ninjas and killed the Dinosaurs. Knowing the sight of hundreds of dead Ninjas and Dinosaurs would disturb the general public; Adam wisely decided to burn the bodies.
A police sketch drawn from witnesses reveals that the Ninjas are armed with swords and the Dinosaurs have very sharp teeth. If you spot one of these Ninjas riding a Dinosaur contact your local authority and run for you life.

RIP Rob

A good friend and fellow musician passed away on May 18th and he will truly be missed. Rob Ellis not only rocked for the band Sumnelze but also was toying with the idea of being the second guitar player for Achalachia.
Rob lived his life hard and fast and unfortunately, too short. An amazing guitar player and a good friend to all he came in contact with, he has left his mark on many people. It’s difficult to put into word what Rob meant to others, but if you had the privileged to know him, you know what I’m talking about.
Come celebrate Rob’s life on June 5th at Just Bills, we are dedicating our show to him.
