The votes are in and 64% of you think we should change our name from Achalachia to something else. Here is your chance to have your voice heard by suggesting a new name for us. You don’t like the name Achalachia or at least you think it’s time for a change. So here are some of the names that were given to us. There is no guarantee that we’ll use it, but it gives us a better idea of what you like, it is our name after all. New Name For Achalachia?

Over the years many people, and band members, have asked if we should change our name, and we’ve never been able to give a definitive answer. Usually we respond with, “to what?” and that’s really what has been holding back any movement on a possible name change. We really can’t think of anything better.
As time passes, it gets harder and harder on both sides of the name change isle. First, we would have to remarket ourselves. That means, buying new t-shirts, stickers, drum heads, and even this domain name.
On the other hand, it would be better to change it sooner than later. We are not a household name, a fresh start might be nice, and we could stop answering the question, “So, uh, what does that mean?” Not to mention, fans might actually be able to pronounce it.
So I propose the question, should we change our band name?
